Killed in attempting to land his Spitfire IX in appalling weather conditions at Souk-El-Khemis airfield in rain and hail - he crashed due to the weather conditions, his plane spun and skidded on the mud

Medjez-El-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia

His father George died in 1926 from wounds received in the First World War and he was named after his uncle who was killed at Cambrai, France during the first war
